Development and application of circular die-cutting technology

in the past, corner cutting and slotting machines were mostly used in the molding of cartons. With the continuous improvement of packaging speed and accuracy requirements, die-cutting molding has become the mainstream of carton production

there are three ways of die cutting carton: flat pressing, round pressing and round pressing. Flattening has the highest accuracy, while the efficiency of round pressing is the highest. With the continuous application and popularization of high-grade die-cutting materials and technologies, more and more carton factories choose circular die-cutting machines to produce cartons

there are two ways of circular die cutting: hard die cutting and soft die cutting. The bottom roll is the die cutting of steel roll, which we usually call hard die cutting; The bottom roll sleeve has a die-cutting method of soft materials, which we call soft die-cutting accordingly. The biggest feature of soft die-cutting is that the blade can cut into the soft roll sleeve

the problems that are easy to occur in circular die-cutting are:

· dimensional changes

· continuous cutting/wire drawing

· reverse cutter

· poor waste discharge

· indentation is not in place

these problems are closely related to the selection of die-cutting blade specifications and types, the use of indentation lines, and the collocation of relevant die-cutting materials

Sweden Sandvik and national company of the United States have products with corresponding technologies in circular pressing and die cutting

I. blade selection although there are a variety of materials to be die-cut, and a die-cutting board needs to be composed of multi-functional blades, all users have the same requirements for die-cutting: efficiency, quality and cost

the blade shall be selected according to the tooth shape, number of teeth, height, thickness and hardness

at first, the successfully applied tooth type of round pressing was 12 teeth per inch, which was first developed and manufactured by national company of the United States. Later, the company increased its independent research and development to become the most basic tooth of the circular die-cutting blade, which continues to be used today and is still used by many users around the world

12 teeth are widely used in die cutting of three/five layer corrugated boxes, especially in the circumferential direction

it is matched with a transverse blade with 8 teeth per inch. Due to the transverse large-area cutting, the pressure required is large. The 8-tooth blade can reduce the die-cutting pressure and is easy to cut through

in order to reduce the depth of cutting into the bottom roll, reduce the die cutting pressure and improve the machine speed, a 10 tooth blade came into being

10 tooth blade can be used at the same time in circumference and transverse direction, which can improve the effect of die cutting

in the European market, many die-cutting materials are made of base paper fibers, which are hard and difficult to cut. The advent of Youli knife makes the round pressing die-cutting rise to an unprecedented level

the tooth shape of Youli cutter is smooth wavy teeth, which greatly reduces the depth of cutting into the low roll, greatly reduces the die-cutting pressure, prolongs the service life of the bottom roll, smoothes the shear, and greatly improves the machine speed

kk knife English name klean kut

its special tooth sample design is very suitable for head and tail knives

the thickness of the blade commonly used in circular die cutting is 1.42mm. 1.05mm blades are useful, but few

: the height of the rounding blade is determined by the thickness of the tiller carton. The commonly used accura Phoenix provides excellent clarity and high temperature resistance for projet 6000 and 7000. The heights are: 23 0mm, etc

generally, the height of the transverse blade is about 0.5mm higher than that of the blade in the circumferential direction to ensure uniform cutting in both directions

the special tooth shape design of Youli cutter enables it to have the same height in the transverse and circumferential directions, or the transverse direction is slightly higher than the circumferential direction

: hardness

the material of the blade is usually medium hard, which can meet most of the requirements of circular die cutting; The blade with higher hardness can be used in the position of horizontal or head and tail knife to enhance the ability to resist the reverse knife

the non quenched blade can be used for ordinary die cutting, and the quenched blade is especially suitable for die cutting in large quantities

II. Indentation line

the selection of indentation line for round pressing is similar to flat pressing die cutting. Generally, the horizontal indentation is slightly higher than that in the circumferential direction. When calculating the pressing line, the depth of the blade cutting into the bottom roll must be taken into account. The blade usually cuts into the bottom roll at a depth of 5mm (for Youli knife.5mm)

third, sponge

sponge plays an important role in machine speed/waste discharge. In circular die-cutting, there are waste cleaning sponges, spring empty sponges, chip removal sponges, and groove mother (a kind of waste cleaning). Due to the wide variety of specifications and different marking methods of sponges, we can't simply use the original specifications of sponges in use as the standard. As one of the best cooperation units in Foshan baijiabang, our circular die-cutting material company can provide the correct hardness and specifications of sponges

IV. other

good circular die cutting requires more than the above materials, and strict requirements for the quality and shape of the arc plate. More importantly, the operation of die-cutting. Good debugging and pressurization is very critical to the life of die-cutting plate. Circular die cutting is affected by many factors. Correct analysis of various factors can help us find ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs
